Horror Con Scotland 2024:

A Success at the SEC, Glasgow

On 21st September, the SEC in Glasgow became the ultimate destination for horror enthusiasts as Horror Con Scotland 2024 made its much-anticipated debut in Glasgow. The eerie corridors and shadowed corners buzzed with fans, creators, and cosplayers, all united by a shared love for all things horror. From chilling exhibits to engaging panels, the event was a thrilling experience that left attendees both spooked and delighted.

A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Horror Community

First and foremost, a massive thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to making this event a resounding success. Your enthusiasm and passion for horror are what drive us to create these immersive experiences. We are truly humbled by the overwhelming support and the invaluable feedback you’ve provided. 🙏

Listening and Learning: Your Feedback Matters

We’ve taken the time to read through all your comments and suggestions, and we genuinely appreciate everyone who took the time to share their thoughts. One of the key areas you’ve highlighted is the need for better signage and maps within the venue. We hear you loud and clear! Navigating through the realms of horror should be thrilling, not confusing, and we’re committed to improving this aspect in future events.

Looking Ahead: Plans for Next Year

As of now, we don’t have a confirmed date for next year’s Horror Con Scotland, nor have we finalised which rooms at the SEC we’ll be haunting next. This year’s event was a learning experience, and we wanted to see how things unfolded before making any big decisions. Rest assured, as soon as we have things locked in, you’ll be the first to know! 🎉

Behind the Scenes: A One-Person Show

What many might not realise is that Horror Con Scotland is organised by just one person—me! Balancing this passion project with other work commitments has been a thrilling challenge. The financial risk involved was significant—some might even call it a stupid financial decision—but my dedication to bringing this event to life overruled any hesitations. While I may not have the deepest pockets, the success of this year’s event has fuelled my determination to make next year’s convention even better. 💀

Growing Pains and Future Goals

Many of you have suggested fantastic ideas like adding more food options, scare mazes, and expanding the space. These are all on my radar and are elements I am eager to incorporate. However, these enhancements require more time and, of course, additional funding. Given that we only had the morning of the event to set everything up, certain features weren’t feasible this time around. But bear with us—this is just the beginning! 🖤

A Final Note of Gratitude

Once again, thank you for your unwavering support and for being part of the Horror Con Scotland family. This event wouldn’t be possible without each and every one of you. I’m incredibly excited to see how we grow from here and can’t wait to share more chilling adventures with you all in the future.

Stay spooky, and see you next time!
