Statement regarding British Horror Studio
We have had a few enquiries about why our convention is not involved with British Horror Studio (Hex Studios, Amicus Productions & Fife Creative Studios), especially since we are the largest independent horror convention in Scotland. The reason is simple: we do not wish to associate with the way they are run.
The above statement is in direct response to the statement shared by Lawrie Brewster on 7 March 2025, in which he, on behalf of British Horror Studio (Hex Studios, Amicus Productions & Fife Creative Studios), started a disinformation campaign about Horror Con Scotland.

With this statement, Lawrie knowingly shared lies and proceeded to proactively prevent commenters from attending the event. We were forced to respond publicly to these actions, and make our evidence public. If you view our ‘Statement regarding Lawrie Brewster’, you will see, unlike British Horror Studio, we have evidence to back up our claims.
Following the publication of this post on Facebook - Screenshot available below for reference - Lawrie Brewster issued Horror Con Scotland with legal threats and demanding we take down the posts.
Thank you for threatening us with legal action Lawrie Brewster.
In response, we issued a cease and desist letter to the business addresses we could find. As these were tracked, we know they were claimed by the desired recipients, who failed to respond. This action leads us to the conclusion that British Horror Studio (Hex Studios, Amicus Productions & Fife Creative Studios) condone the unprofessional and aggressive business practices of Lawrie Brewster.
